The other night, Creative Commons celebrated its fourth birthday. Part of the celebration was the transition of the leadership baton from Lawrence Lessig to Joi Ito, as documented here by Catspaw's blog.
But that's not the torch passing that I'm talking about.
I've talked for a while with friends and colleagues about the impressive power of Second Life, and the pictures from the party are amazing. I borrowed the screen capture on the right from Catspaw's blog - note the live feed of the real-life party on screen within the picture.
There's an amazing thing going on at Second Life, and if you haven't been there, you really do have to check it out. I've been talking for a while about holding a conference within the virtual world - I think it'd be a heck of a lot more interesting than the typical webinar stuff that we do in the industry.
Anybody out there want to plan a Virtual InfoSecurity conference? If we held it, would you come?
Aside, if you're in world, send me a message and we'll sync up sometime - I'm Michael Columbo.
